Introduction Amid the menswear collection presented by Giorgio Armani for Spring/Summer 2027 during Milan Fashion Week, a number of women’s looks stood out to me in particular. They were not necessarily the boldest designs in the show, but they carried the balance Armani is known for—elegance, comfort, and thoughtful simplicity. In this article, I share some of the looks that caught my eye the most and explain what made them special from my perspective. When Plaids Appeared Softer Than Usual Plaid womenswear look from Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2027 presented during Milan Fashion Week. This was one of the looks I found myself returning to more than once. Plaids are usually associated with a distinctly classic character, but Armani presented them here in a softer and lighter way. I liked how the checked pattern blended with the loose, flowing silhouettes without feeling formal or rigid, as if the look was reintroducing one of fashion’s most traditional patterns through a contempor...

The Early Roots: Princess Charlene’s Childhood and Family

Princess Charlene, before stealing the hearts of hundreds of millions around the world, captured the heart of Prince Albert II of Monaco, who chose her to be his life partner, the Princess of his throne, and the mother of his children. But who is Princess Charlene, who enchanted the world with her exceptional elegance, profound humility, and serene beauty?

The beautiful Princess was born in 1978 in Rhodesia (currently Zimbabwe). Her family moved to South Africa when she was only 12 years old. Her father Michael was a sales manager while her mother Lynette was a swimming coach. She has two younger brothers, Gareth and Sean. But what is the secret behind Princess Charlene's interest in swimming and how did her hobby begin?

Between the Tragedy of Drowning and

the Passion for Survival

And because childhood stories are more deeply ingrained in the mind and remain resistant to being forgotten, Princess Charlene when she was a child was shaken by a great trauma: her cousin Richard drowned when he went swimming in the river behind her uncle’s backyard. This incident, which devastated her entire being, made her care about water safety, and it is what paved the way for her later passion for swimming.

From the Glow of the Encounter to the Covenant of Marriage

Because love does not seek permission from hearts and does not knock on their doors waiting for the permission to enter, but rather it is like a sweeping hurricane that invades the heart relentlessly, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene fell in love since they first met in 2000 at a swimming meet in Monaco. However, they did not appear publicly until 2006 during the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics, and like all great love stories, their love story culminated in marriage in 2011.

The Charm of Presence and the Secret of the Exceptional Designer's Signature

Since Charlene ascended the throne of Monaco, she has been capturing hearts with her sophisticated royal elegance, which has made her a global icon whose every fashion detail is anticipated by everyone. But the question remains prevalent regarding the identity of the creative mind that managed to decode her refined taste and captured her admiration with his exceptional designs until he became the closest designer to the Princess's heart and her undisputed favorite, especially in the recent period.

The Lebanese creator Elie Saab—from whose designs Queen Rania of Jordan has worn on several occasions, most notably a gown for her coronation ceremony, as Countess Stephanie also wore a wedding dress of his design during her marriage to the Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg in 2012, and likewise Princess Claire of Luxembourg chose her wedding dress from Elie Saab's designs, as Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, Princess Madeleine of Sweden, and Princess Maria Olympia of Greece also dazzled in his creations—he is the designer who managed to decode Princess Charlene's refined taste. But what are the most prominent looks of Princess Charlene in 2026 that carried the signature of Elie Saab and won the

world's admiration?

The Princess wore a white coat with a belt made of the same fabric as well as a white dress, both specially designed for her by the creative designer Elie Saab.

Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene joined numerous royal figures to attend the 70th edition of the Bal de la Rose on March 21st. It is noteworthy that the Bal de la Rose was established by the initiative of Princess Grace of Monaco in 1954 and is organized annually in March by the Monte-Carlo SBM Group at the Salle des Étoiles of the Sporting Monte-Carlo.

The Princess stunned the attendees in a Couture gown by Elie Saab. The dress featured a sophisticated one-shoulder silhouette in a warm grey hue, crafted from exquisite chiffon. It was complemented by a cape draped over the right shoulder and adorned with hand-embroidered silver sequins across the bodice and the upper part of the cape, lending the look an air of regal sophistication and prestige.

The Opening of the Monaco Exotic Garden (Jardin Exotique de Monaco)

Princess Charlene, accompanied by her husband Prince Albert II, attended the opening of the Monaco Exotic Garden. As usual, the Princess was the center of attention, radiant with her distinctive glamour and elegance. For this occasion, she selected a look from Elie Saab’s Ready-to-Wear Fall/Winter 2024 collection, which was showcased at Paris Fashion Week.

The ensemble, in a sophisticated olive green, consisted of a three-quarter sleeve jacket featuring geometric embroidery across the chest, complemented by a central zipper. The same embroidery adorned the hem of the jacket, though with the geometric patterns artfully inverted. The trousers, tailored to be fitted at the top before flowing into a wide-leg cut through the middle and hem, featured matching geometric embroidery along the sides, starting just above the knee and extending to the base. The design was further detailed with functional top pockets.

The look was perfectly punctuated by an exceptionally creative belt that defined the waist. The highlight of this accessory was its fastening mechanism: two silver-toned metallic elephants that serve as the clasp. The Princess’s choice of color was far from coincidental; the green hue serves as a symbol of nature, harmonizing beautifully with the garden’s opening.

On Thursday, May 7, 2026, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene attended the gala evening of the 81st General Assembly of the International Military Sports Council (CISM), held at the Grand Ballroom of the Fairmont Monte Carlo. Princess Charlene captured everyone's attention with an exceptional choice by Elie Saab. She wore a black jumpsuit that reflects the Princess’s sophisticated and successful fashion choices, blending precise tailoring with sequined embroidery detailing on sheer sections. The design flows smoothly into a cape, lending the look a modern royal prestige. The piece featured practical touches, including slanted side pockets and a concealed back zipper, making it a model of elegance that combines luxury and comfort simultaneously.

Harmony of Creativity and Royal Prestige

It is clearly evident that designer Elie Saab is the creator most capable of decoding Princess Charlene’s persona. He has masterfully crafted a visual language that befits her stature and captivating presence, creating a blend that unites opulence and simplicity in a stunning balance. The Princess’s frequent choice of Elie Saab’s signature reflects the designer’s intelligence and deep understanding of her character and status, making every piece she wears a living embodiment of luxury that does not fade with the passage of time. Thus, Princess Charlene remains an icon of contemporary elegance, inspiring the world with a style that combines strength and femininity under an umbrella of incomparable creativity and a shared understanding of the meaning of true sophistication.

A Perspective on Royal Elegance

I believe that true elegance does not merely lie in wearing expensive garments, but in the profound message those clothes carry. My analysis of the choices made by Princess Charlene of Monaco inevitably stems from a deep admiration for how she utilizes fashion as a silent and powerful language of diplomacy and sophistication. Through her continuous selection of Elie Saab’s designs, which blend refinement and femininity, the Princess does not merely follow fashion; she personally redefines a new era of contemporary style. From both my professional and personal perspective, I see this collaboration as an artistic state that transcends traditional choices, where the vision of the creative designer Elie Saab meets the elegant, magnificent, and serene persona of Princess Charlene, resulting in looks that overflow with timeless luxury and reflect a shared understanding of the essence of creativity.
